Ahh, Police Investigating Mr. X that’s never gone bad ever!
Just as an aside, where do these clowns get pepper spray, I’m guessing in quantity? Is that something you can get online? Not asking for myself or a friend, just to satisfy my curiosity.
And how do we know the perp wasn’t legitimately acting in self-defense? Civilians spraying other civilians based on looks alone is assault.
From your own link:
Portland police haven’t announced that they have a suspect or have made any arrests. They say they seek the public’s help as they investigate the case.
As you were were saying?
Nah, not excusing the assault, but the guy shouting profanities had to know that it might have repercussions.
Win-Win
You’re excusing assault. Insulting The Dear Leader does not allow a physical assault by a supporter.
I know you are having trouble reading a single post above you but here. ^^^
I am less worried about the dear leader being insulted but if some screams fuck you in my face, there might be repercussions.
“Mostly peaceful” protestors shouldn’t be doing any such thing.
You just said a person being punched for something they said was win-win. I agree that you are not excusing it. You are praising it.
Yes win win, the protestor got to say what he wanted, the guy got to punch him and the protestor will likely get his attacker for assault.
Win-Win
Less praise, more understanding.
Making a disclaimer prior to doing the thing you said you disclaimed is cowardly. Own your opinions and stand by them.
That being said, do you:
Support violence upon hearing an insult directed to a uninvolved third-party?
Decry violence upon hearing an insult directed to an uninvolved third party?
You cannot have it both ways.
Somebody never heard the old “sticks and stones” thingy growing up.
I support the right to defend yourself (even from words) as well as supporting the right to speak your mind, as well as support the law that calls the punch an assault. I really don’t see how this is a hard concept?
Clearly you support his right of speech, but you don’t think his speech can come with repercussions, for every action, there is the possibility of a reaction. Talk about cowardly “I’M NOT TOUCHING YOU”, as finger edges increasingly closer to face
And yes, if you don’t want assault charges leveled against you, then practice sticks and stones
So you support violence against people who say mean things about Trump.
You could have just answered ‘2’ instead of trying to obfuscate (to yourself, only) your answer of ‘2’.
Thank for replying.
Again, less about Trump, more about the Fuck YOU, leveled at the third party. The third party may have punched the protestor for him saying Fuck Trump, but I am responding to the fuck you leveled at the third party
And you are welcome, but now I would like you to comprehend.
Sure he can. Republicans have been talking out of both sides of their ass for decades.
For example, Arizona’s SB 1070 was passed and immediately signed in April 2010 by Governor Brewer -R- because, she said, the Federal government (under Obama, natch) was failing to do it’s job.
Then in November, Proposition 203, allowing medical marijuana was passed but Brewer refused to allow it, saying people should be arrested for possession. Why? Federal law superceedes local laws, that’s why.
For someone not excusing the assault, they’re putting a lot of effort into excusing the assault.
“Defending yourself from words” with physical assault isn’t defending yourself in any meaningful way (unless the “words” are themselves a threat of violence). It’s just assault.
I comprehend that you approve of trump supporters physically attacking people without justification.
You would be wrong.
I’m not surprised.
