Feeding the ducks and squirrels

I live quite close to Dunham Massey Park, a huge place with a variety of wildlife.

Over the last few weeks my friend and myself have taken to going feeding the ducks, well not just ducks but geese, swans, coots, moorhens and all sorts of water birds.

And squirrels :stuck_out_tongue:

These buggers must be the cheekiest critters around, they actually scamper up your pants leg, perch on your arm and take nuts out of your hand, they lurk just at the entrance and if they see you are carrying any sort of shopping bag they’re on you.

Obviously they’ve learned to associate, shopping bag=food.

Once a squirrel has ensconched itself on your arm it will chase away any interlopers that try to muscle in on its patch.

Having been given a camcorder some while ago I have got some great footage.

Just thought I’d tell you

I went to Dunham Massey a wee while ago - I’d imagine the gardens are looking pretty lovely now? Maybe that’s somewhere I should take my visiting parents…

Given the weather we’re having at the moment now is the time to go.

It’s absolutely beautiful plus you can get a decent meal in the restaurant and believe me the coffee they serve is just great.

Most places are open for viewing, The Olde Sawmill being just one place we looked in yesterday before we decided to go to the pub :stuck_out_tongue:

We had been there at Dunham for 4 hours, just walking around, we were knackered
