Feline Leukemia treatable with Imulan?

My precious fat tuxedo cat, Asimov Wigglesworth III, http://i35.tinypic.com/beyrdi.jpg has come down a nasty case of FeLV :(.

While researching his disease, I stumbled upon the treatment “Imulan.” Is it viable? Does it actually work? I realize there’s no cure for FeLV, but there are some very convincing testimonials on a few of the pet forums I’ve been fervently browsing.

What’s the straight dope on Imulan?

The only approved treatment available for FeLV is LTCI. Much like today’s AIDS therapies, it doesn’t cure FeLV, but merely controls it. I sure wish I had this available a decade and a half ago for my very first kitty (rescued off the street) who was FeLV positive.
