Raping a 15 year old and then distributing child porn is past a “bad decision”. If you made those kind of “bad decisions” at 20 (or any other age!) you should also be in prison.

This wasn’t just a bad decision. They were old enough to know better. If they were all 15 I might have a little sympathy for the bad decision but these young men should not have been hanging out with a 15 year old.
My immediate thought is, “What is it with people committing crimes and recording them?” OK, it was a good thing from the perspective of justice being done that they were that stupid, but really; master criminals these guys are not.
They take a “he said/she said” situation, document their crime on video, and then start distributing the video just to make sure they didn’t risk getting away with their crime. Maybe they should have just done it in a police station in front of the desk sergent, to cut out the middlemen and get matters over with faster.

I was dealing with criminals back in early eighties. And they were already dumb as rocks back then. The only reason they weren’t going to prison for things like this was they didn’t have video cameras and the internet.
I, like everyone else in this thread, am confused on why you posted this. These guys got charged for having sex with a 15 year old minor at 20 years old and recording it. As they should have. Why are you butt hurt about this?

Never said they should have been, the vast majority of people make it through their 20s w/o engaging in serious crimes. The point was that stupidity is not as unexpected when a young adult.

Right. The no-minors-in-porn laws are very clear cut about it: it’s illegal to make videos of actual minors having sex and to distribute them, regardless of assent of the minors themselves or of profit or lack thereof.
But the lack of consent in this case eliminates whatever plausible argument could possibly have been made in justification of what happened.
Ok, setting aside the fact that the girl was a minor, filming anybody performing a sex act without their knowledge and distributing it is pretty heinous. Would the story really sound all that much better if the girl was 18 instead? I personally don’t think so.
