Given the vast amount of photoshopping every actress, model, singer, etc. gets subjected to on the internet, how can one determine who actually did get photographed au naturale?
If they talk about it as something that happened, then it happened. Otherwise, I’m willing to assume that totally random nude photos are fakes. Somewhere between those two are nude-seeming photos from movies they’ve done: there may have been a body double, or they may not have been nude (I’m trying to remember a movie or TV show I saw recently in which the actress wore a body stocking that exactly matched her skin tone).
Good Photoshop costs money - nudity is cheap. Unless the actress is really famous, I’m going to assume they just paid her to doff her clothing.
Besides, shame is so 20th Century. Young people today have nothing to hide.
If you want to check movies and TV rather than photographs, check with Mr Skin. I won’t link to his website but you should have no difficulty finding it. He lists most female celebrities and any movies or TV shows where they have appeared nude or semi-nude. You can check his lists for free but you have to pay to see the actual scenes.
Yeah, if it’s a crappy cellphone pic, probably real.
Splayed out and posing in good light with a professional(ish) looking shot? Unless it’s from Playboy or some other “known” source like that, well…
No, that’s trivial to fake.
The way you tell is by looking for the original that had the famous person added, or you look for obvious signs that parts of the image aren’t original.
For the average dude, you also notice that, if a famous person has real intentional nudes out there, it’s almost certainly going to be well known. Someone in the industry would have stumbled upon it and not only done what I mentioned above, but also possibly track down when and where it was taken.
In other words, it all comes down to tracing the history of the image online.
(This does give me an idea for how to deal with an inadvertent leak, though. Make some high quality fake originals.)
