Female Fan of Palin? Consider this...

Nothing changed because Israel already had a female draft, in place since its foundation. I don’t think Prime Minister (not president) Meir made any alterations to it.

I don’t see the connection between Palin as VP and women getting drafted. From everything I’ve heard about her, she’d be as vehemently opposed to women serving in the armed forces as pretty much anything else she’s credited as being vehemently opposed to.

Isn’t this more appropriately a question to McCain supporters?

You got that right. I threw away all of my old recruiting stuff a year or so ago, but we had to keep track of things like how many people it took an individual recruiter to interview to find one qualified applicant. The average for our area was about 15 to 20 people IIRC. To find ONE person. This includes the ASVAB and the physical BTW.

The draft is a nonstarter. Women looking into Palin’s character (and people in general) will, I hope, be much more interested to hear that she’s exactly the sort of grudge-holding Mean Girl everybody hated when they were teenagers, who is, indeed, using her powers to pursue old arguments from high school:

More here. Read and be appalled.

I’m not exactly sure how Palin being VP makes a draft for women more or less possible. She’s not exactly consistent when it comes to women’s rights (thought it’s a little difficult to argue ‘equal rights, equal responsibility’ when female soldiers have more chance of being sexually assaulted by a fellow soldier than being killed by enemy gunfire). As for women being drafted at all, in theory, I can’t understand how they wouldn’t be. And that’s likely what would prevent the draft.
