Female/Gay Male Dopers: What do you think of guys who shave their chest?

I love a smooth chest on a skinny or sculpted man. But, as has been said, waxed, not shaved, please! Stubble sucks.

On a barrel chested guy, or one with a few extra pounds around the waist, hairy looks better, IMHO.

But no man, regardless of shape, should allow hair on his back or shoulders to go unwaxed. Icky, icky, icky.

Shaved or waxed underarms are just wrong, unless you’re a swimmer.

Oh good, it’s not just me. “Gross” was my first reaction. I think because I’m imagining all the stubble and being able to see the hairs beneath the pores. No thanks!

I’m more of a naturalist as it is. Just go with what you’re given.

Don’t care either way. But if I were a guy I’d probably attack my back hair before thinking of my chest. I guess if I really thought about it I’d ideally like a guy with minimal hair, but really, everything considered, I’d much rather he be smart, funny, a good dresser, good lover, etc.

Me likee. Of course, shaving does equal stubble, so waxing would probably make the most sense. (And yes, I know it hurts. But I’m waxing off over more than 50% of my body, so I’m not in a position to be sympathetic about that.)

So it’s better to look like you have Don King in a headlock?

I don’t like guys with too thick chest hair, or with too wide coverage (neck and back hair is icky). Light to medium coverage in the central chest region is fine. I can tolerate, but prefer if it doesn’t interfere too much with the nipple area. I really really love a nice little love trail sneaking up towards the belly button. Naturally smooth, waxed, or trimmed are also fine, but shaved is not as it leads to stubble which is annoying anywhere other than the face, where it is sexy. Absence of armpit hair on a guy strikes me as looking strange, although trimmed is nicer than completely wild.

Guys shaving anywhere except face (and neck) is just weird. Guys have hair; modern women (and men) just need to get over the idea that humans should be hairless. Frankly, I’d love it if women could stop shaving, too.

Cat Fight, there are a whole lot of things I look for in a guy ahead of “hairless”, too. It’s just hair, people - get over it.

People bathing is weird. People have body odor; modern women (and men) just need to get over the idea that humans should be odorless.

People combing their hair is weird. People have tangled hair and lice; modern women (and men) just need to get over the idea that humans should be well-groomed.

People wearing clothes is weird. People have skin; modern women (and men) just need to get over the idea that humans should be clothed.

I have to wear clothes - it’s cold here.
