My father is a 190 pound retired cop. He has no martial arts experience but is street smart. Could Megu Mega, 115 pounds take him in a street fight? If you think so, could he take 145 pound Rin Nakai?I would like to hear from a woman martial artist if possible.
Obviously wrestling and martial arts/fighting are two completely different things but as a 200 lbs wrestler that was probably .500 for his career and never made State, I could beat everyone on my wrestling team, including multiple State champions, until it got to the 189 lbs weight class. A skilled fast 189 pounder could kick my 200 lb ass.
The smaller guys, 115 lbs, it didn’t matter how strong or fast they were, I could beat them with one hand tied behind my back. It was like roughhousing with a child
If he could close the distance without getting hurt, manage to pin her arms to her sides without ending up without getting put in a sub, trip her and just lay on top, (without letting her pass or sweep etc) then I’d say she is likely to have trouble getting out from under him. Is that winning though?
However, Megumi has an amazing sub game which mostly will rely on technique and leverage over pure strength, so the size/weight/strength advantage might not be all that good.
I’d say the winner depends on circumstance, rules, who gets the jump on who and other variables. Obviously higher weight gives an advantage, otherwise there wouldn’t be weightclasses in boxing, wrestling, MMA etc, however a smaller more skilled person is likely to beat a larger less skilled person, until the gap in weight gets too much to handle.
As such the 189lb guys could beat a 200lb sitchensis but the 115lb guys couldn’t.
