Fencing Swords

I’m officially toast now, folks. If you don’t hear from me next week, throw a wake for me in MPSIMS, tell omni-not, No Clue Boy, and Steve Wright my last thoughts were of them, and have Polycarp give the eulogy.

A very much busted!

Actually, folks, in all seriousness it appears I do know sweetums in real life and I have a great deal of respect for his knowledge of SCAdian style fencing, sword fight choreography, and the historical aspects of sword fighting and fencing. I’d stake my reputation on this board on his advice. He is also the best fencing teacher I have ever had, and I’d trust him as readily on fencing as I would Polycarp on theology. That’s as high a compliment as you’ll hear from me on this board.

Of course, that doesn’t change the fact that I’ll pay for about 6 months of not fencing on Sunday.

:Blushes:

Thank you.

See you sunday then?

I meant every word. I wouldn’t have come back on-line to post if I didn’t.

Yes, I’ll see you Sunday, assuming it’ll quit snowing sometime between now and then. I don’t suppose I could borrow a pair of gloves could I?

(Katherine to you)

Sweetums, do you practise renaissance swordsmanship exclusively, or do you also practise medieval techniques (with longsword, broad sword, armored combat, etc).

And do you know any good groups here in NJ? As I mentioned it’s hard to find sparring partners! Argh!

Not in NJ other than SCA folks. I belive that there are a few good SCA groups in New Jersey, fencing is not a popular in the SCA in that part of the country, but still, there are some very good people to play with when you find them.

Other than SCA, how close are you to New York City. I would recomend Maestro Ramón Martínez's school. I have never met the man, but I have worked with more than a few of his students. He comes highly recommended.

Hey, it looks to be worth following the link just for the fact that they are offering pre-orders on a translation of Capo Ferro!
