Feudish - name the state for these universities

Feud-ish - Crossword Clues
This one is different. I don’t like the common rules, so here’s the rules this time:

Go ahead and leave in the questions. The answers make more sense that way - no need to keep going back to the top to see what matches what number. In fact, I’ve left off the numbers.

In this case, there is an absolute answer, so you can score yourself before others have even posted.

If you don’t think this qualifies as a “Feud-ish” thread, then think of a better name and use it the next time you create one.

Good luck.

[Ignore the phrase “Crossword Clues” above, I missed when touching up the prior rules.]

As with the other feuds, when 50 people post there will be a most popular state for each college. Presumably the real answer? And someone will have matched those most popular answers the most often. And they get the gold star. If lots of people guess all of them, then you must pound the gold star into glitter and divide that. I’m not springing for more stars.

From other people’s answers, I’m guessing the Washington suggested was WUStL. Makes sense: UW, while referred to as Washington, would make for a really easy answer… plus all the rest of those are private.

Guh. Also, Emory is not in the state of Atlanta. It’s in the state of Georgia. :smack:

Crap, got Tulane wrong. I knew it was one of those Deep South states.

Okay, not sure that I did these right - I just inserted the state the University or college is located in.

Darn - I was thinking of Princeton…(right?)

1.New York or PA? I’ll say New York.
2.Kentucky? (if I’m wrong, it’s probably Ohio)
3.Vermont
4.North Carolina (it’s one or the other)

6.Virginia, just guessing
7.Massachusetts
8.Maryland
9.Ohio
10.Illinois

14.Assuming you mean UW, Washington. I know there’s probably a ‘Washington University’ somewhere else.
15.Connecticut

And there’s a Washington State University in the state of Washington.

Also in WA are Central, Western, and Eastern Washington Universities.

There’s a University of Mary Washington in Virginia.

Unless you were thinking of the Pac-10 school in Seattle for “Washington”, I’m confident of scoring 100% without checking the key.

I’ve been on the campuses of:

Case Western Reserve – I used to live in the Cleveland area
George Washington – Close Up tour in high school
Northwestern – several women’s basketball games
Purdue – I officially now live in West Lafayette after cleaning out my former apartment in Lafayette yesterday
Washington (in St. Louis) – women’s college basketball All-Star game in conjunction with the 2001 Women’s Final Four, which I also attended

I’ve had T-shirts from Carnegie Mellon, Purdue, and Vanderbilt, and also own a pennant from Johns Hopkins, my maternal grandfather’s alma mater.

Purdue is state-funded. The Indiana legislature is currently refusing to release funds for certain building projects because the head of the State Budget Committee thinks the school has raised tuition too much for the current academic year.
