Few sounds are so sweet...

…as waking up on a cold snowy morning to the scrape of someone else shoveling your sidewalk, allowing you to turn over and continue sleeping.

I was going somewhere else completely.
I thought you were going to say, “The sound of children playing” or some such.

I enjoy shoveling snow so fresh snow is an opportunity.

I’d shovel you walk, knowing how much pleasure it would bring both of us.

Heh. I was going to say, “…as the sound of my daughter waking up and then deciding to “read” in bed for a while so I can go back to sleep!”

That’s a nice sounds to wake up to!

For me, few sounds are so sweet as waking up to the sounds of Suburban Plankton pouring me a hot cup of coffee.

The sound of someone else shoveling your walk? Holy crap, what’s that like? I live in a four apartment building, only one other person here appears to even OWN a shovel, and on the rare occasions he uses it, only shovels ‘his half’ of the walk. Seriously. He shovels the right half of the four foot wide stairs and walkway. Such a douche move.

 That’s horrible! Please tell me that when you shovel “your” half you dump all the snow onto “his” half!

Nah, I try to get out there before him and shovel the whole thing, like a normal person, but sometimes he beats me. Yesterday, he borrowed someone’s snowblower and blew ‘his’ snow on to ‘my’ half, and the whole time I was shoveling I fantasized about bashing in his windows and then his head with my shovel.

But as my mom used to say, “God’s gonna get you for that”, and sometimes she’s right. My landlord never sent a plow to do the (very long) driveway and small lot out back, so he had to shovel the whole thing to get his car out.
