Granted, most people have known that Cuba is FUBARed for decades now, but at least Castro has the balls to admit it.

For completists and dedicated Castro-watchers, Goldberg’s piece in The Atlantic; his previous one was the first in this series on Castro.
I don’t think he said what you think he says: He said that his/his country’s interpretation of how a communist/socialist economy operates isn’t feasible. This does not equate to him saying that communism doesn’t work.
“I know, I know, I know… but we all knew from day one this mumbo jumbo wouldn’t fly!”
Heh, an honest politician.
Guess he’ll have to rename himself Infidel Castro now.
Four posts to the Simpson’s quote. I lurve you guys.
Cool. Wiki before wikis.

Fidel’s brother, Raul Castro, seems to be open to normalizing Cuba’s relationship with the US, but Fidel shot that idea down quickly, even tho Fidel was officially retired by then. I guess meaningful reform is going to have to wait until Fidel has assumed room temperature. Altho I half expect that hard-liners are going to have Raul assassinated as soon as he tries to change the status quo.
