Fighting our hol accommodation owner: smoking.

We arrived back in Aus yesterday after a month in Bali. Now we’re in FNQ, and will be looking for permanent accommodation come Monday.

In the interim, I booked a holiday cottage for 10 days, already paid up front. The owner apparently lives upstairs and doesn’t like us smoking ANYWHERE within the property boundary.

Yeah, yeah, smoking is the work of the devil yada yada. Bite me.

NOWHERE on the booking site did it mention it was a non-smoking property. The house rules printed out INSIDE the cottage mention that ashtrays are provided for smoking outside, and the relevant legislation indicates that yes, YOU CAN SMOKE OUTSIDE.

Got a call from the agent managing the property this morning to tell us to stop smoking inside the property boundary. I emailed her to tell her to bugger-off.
