File-sharing sites allow trading of porn

news or propaganda?

Front page on CNN under technology…

It’s only news if you don’t know where the power switch to the computer is.

Good advertising for porn sites, though. Just in case there was one person left surfing the internet who didn’t know that.

Yes, they do. So?

the biggest benefit of the internet is that it allows you to find anything about anything.

its also its biggest drawback.

Next to the most popular things that P2P is used for that’s all I use it for.

I guess it could be news. They should also testify about newsgroups too though. And IRC fservers.

Ain’t it great

In other news, Pope is Catholic.

The only “news” associated with this story is that it has taken some people this long to figure that out. It only demonstrates how little politicians know about the technology they are trying to regulate.

You always know that are dealing with people who aren’t very knowledgable on the subject when they refer to file-sharing “sites”. They are not websites, they are clients on networks that may have nothing to do with a website.

It was so difficult to get porn when I was going through puberty and really wanted it. These kids today have it so easy…

Man, with all the shit going on in the world, it turns out to be a slow news day!

It’s all propaganda I tell you! Surely such internet “sites” with enough moral fibre to be involved in file-sharing would have nothing to with pornography. This kind of vicious smear will not stand!

Wait…the Internet has porn?

Am I the only one feeling a big whoosh?

I think the stupidest thing is that it says they “allow” trading of porn. As if the makers could stop it if they tried.

Would that be regular porn, old porn or dem leather mask full body suit with whips and chains kinda porn?

What really surprised me was a US senator who knew squat about Kazaa actually called himself computer savvy.

…that AOL is the internet, right?

You can get any type of porn you want on File-Sharing Services.(ah, this isn’t from personal experience, it was my friends who where doing it. Right.) Still, the fact that this makes news is astounding, or that Congress needs tech experts to tell them this is frightneting.

Heck, I get porn in my e-mail that I don’t even want.
Where’s congress been for the last 4 years?

From the CNN article:

Britney Spears = Porn? Huh-whaaa???

Yeah, I’ve gotten my share of the “Britney in cum-swallowing action” types of spam, but, uh, wouldn’t a Kazaa search of her name be more likely to pull up either her music or the lots of non-pornographic images of her that exist? Or is the CNN writer subtly saying that her musical abilities are, well, obscene?

And, the article ends with:

That qualifies as news? Uh, as has been mentioned already, maybe they’ll be telling us about bears and the Pope next?

Definitely the cnn.com “duh” article of the week.

tanstaafl: bingo.
