File synchronization software recommendations?

I update my laptop by copying new or modified files from my desktop, using my network. This works fine, but is a bit slow. Looking for something that would do it automatically (as from a computer to a PDA), and found numerous file synchronization programs.

Obviously, on their websites, they all sound great, including a couple of freebies.

Anybody have any recommendations of good syncing software?

I’ve been using Microsoft’s SyncToy for a while, and it’s been good for me. It’s Windows-only, of course, but it gets the job done and in the end that’s the most important thing. I’d recommend it, but I’m not leaping in the air and saying it’s the greatest thing since pre-sliced bread.

Thanks. I missed this in my search, but it’s sure worth a try, as the price is right! Just downloaded it and will see how well it works.

Been using Foldershare to sync My Documents and mp3 files between a laptop and desktop, and I also have sync directories set up to easily move files to and from my work PC.
