Around the year 2000, I saw a film on video that involved the following two scenes:

A character who until this scene had simply seemed to be a religious proselyte rescued the protagonist from some bad situation, and laid the protagonist on his bed, then began saying two or three times “there but for the grace of God go I,” then proceeded to (attempt to?) anally rape the protagonist.

The final scene of the film was a musical number involving people singing on the top of a building.
