Films that shouldn't've had sequels

Not to mention the fact that the majority of us Dopers are outside the targert audience.

Robocop was brilliant satire, and very well done. The first sequel tried to be good (they got Frank Miller to write the script, but then tossed it out), but it was ham-handed. The less said about the third and the TV series, the better. They shoulda stopped after the first film.

There were two sequels to Porky’s. Rather than saying which is better, I think this is a case where we’d be better off if the original hadn’t been made.

There were 3 tv series, 2 animated and one live action.

The first cartoon wasn’t bad. The episodes I remember actually attempted to deal with things like how Murphy felt about being mostly metal, how the other cops resented him, and similar things.

I liked some things from the live action series. The Media Minute was great. ‘You give us 30 seconds and we’ll give you the world!’. I also like Commander Cash.

The second animated series was Robocop:Alpha Commando. It was as sanitized and dumbed down as you could imagine. Robocop’s body was fitted with all kinds of ridiculous weapons- including a golf ball shooter.

Brannagh’s Henry V was much better than Henry’s A-U.

What? Why are you looking at me like that?

That’s not as ridiculous as you might think. Current riot control gear can include weapons that shoot beanbags.
