He appeared on our local PBS fund drive a couple of years ago. He was way more bloated than William Shatner is now.

Mr Inman’s passage is certainly a sad loss. I would like to add my own farewell to a wonderful actor and fantastic comedian. Here’s to you Mr. Humphries, may all the angels follow your direction and learn to “Walk this way.”

Probably an insensitive question, but does anyone know if he was actually gay, or just acting? If he was straight, he was even a greater actor than I assumed. It was odd seeing an openly gay character on TV back in the 70’s, and I feel that regardless of his gender orientation, took great courage to portray that character with such wit, aploumb and style.
