So it’s finals time here at UVA, and as is to be expected, things are getting a little tense. Luckily, people realize this, and so there are a number of enterprising individuals who are endeavoring to take the edge off this horrid week. Tonight, I got to bear witness to one such attempt.
I’m sitting on the “quiet” floor of the library, reading Shakespeare like nobody’s business. When suddenly, I hear it. A group of carolers, dressed in red and green and standing in the center aisle of the library roughly ten feet from my head starts into “Jingle Bells,” in as loud a voice as they can muster.
“Awww,” I think. “That’s really cute. It’s too bad that I have to read, though, because as it is it’s really cute and really really annoying. I wish they’d stop.”
Then, as if in answer to my prayers, I hear something. It sounds like footsteps. Getting closer and closer. I turn.
“HERE COMES THE PAIN TRAIN!” shouts a man barrelling down the full length of the middle aisle, right before slamming into one of the “carolers” and knocking him about five feet through the air.
Both guys got up, shook hands, and bowed. Then they all left.
All in all, the coolest Finals-Induced Library Sketch I’ve seen yet.
