Finally, a Bond-Canon Casino Royale!

I hope the canon-version will stick to the grittiness of the book. Probably too much to ask, since audiences are accustomed to the Bond gadgets. I prefer the first films where the gadgets were not so outrageous and Bond had to rely on his wits.

DVD version of the 1967 film also contains the 1954 CBS TV version, live TV bloopers and all. Peter Lorre made one of the more infamous goofs in live TV history: Dead Men Do Walk Off Set. It’s not considered canonical though, because, among other things, Bond is a US CIA agent. But still a lot closer to canon than the 1967 film.

Oh – I did check the Climax! episode on my DVD when I heard this UL. Lorre did not get up and walk away.
