Finally! The answer we have all been looking for- concerning the Gut doctor and his deadly vegetable
My vote is Brussels sprouts.
I’ve seen this linked all over and praise for how great the article is, but I just couldn’t care.
Yeah, everyone knows the chum box (article did teach me that descriptor though) add are shady bullshit. I don’t know why I’d want to read that much about it.
If you don’t want to read the whole thing the answer is at the bottom of the article.
I’ve never actually seen or heard of the vegetable-hating gut doctor before. The more you know!
For those who don’t want to scroll to the bottom (like me, and when even scrolling is boring, think about how bad the article itself must be), the answer is corn.
I found the article pretty informative - it talks about the companies and economics behind these ubiquitous and annoying ads.
It’s nice when posts and titles are descriptive. It’s not so nice when they are not. Just sayin’.
If you’ve ever seen the ad, you would know what I meant.
Why assume every Doper has “seen the ad” when you could simply explain what you’re talking about?
Because, it’s not very interesting unless you have been bombarded with this clickbait for ages, and were interested in know it’s origin.
Yeah, this was really crappy of the writer to stretch it out, just like the jerks that run these stupid ads.
As dumb as that whole gut doctor ad is, I kind of agree. Corn’s not food, corn’s what food eats. But I disagree that corn’s a vegetable, I consider it a grain, although botanically I’m probably barking up the wrong tree (stalk? hill? What does corn grow on anyway?).
Stalks. And you’re correct; it’s a grass.
This is my goto clickbait site. Have a link so I get the answer without wasting time.
Hey, that’s not bad…
But…but how else can I eat melted butter when crab legs are so expensive?
That makes for an interesting browse. There’s also a pattern I’m noticing. The answer to clickbait like “You won’t believe what happened when …” is often “nothing”. To clickbait like “Is it really true that …?” the answer is usually “no”. Though sometimes it’s “maybe”. And “He/she did this …” generally turns out to mean that he/she really didn’t do much of anything. I get the impression that writing this drivel must be the most depressing job in the world. I think I’d rather be doing singing commercials.
There’s one that pops up on a local website warning about new traffic laws or some such. Interestingly, in the background of the photo of a generic cop arresting a blond, you see a stretch of desert with cactus and mountains in the distance. I live in southern Maryland, where cactus are houseplants and the nearest mountains are a couple of hours or more to the west.
Pancakes? Toast? Sauteed mushrooms?
