Financial Discussion Board Suggestions

I would love a few suggestions for thoughtful financial discussion boards.

I have not invested much the last several years. I am about to start back up.

Any opinion on The Fool?

I remember them from long ago. The AOL lovers.
There boards seem clean but I do not know the community anymore.

MSN and
Yahoo
Seem imposable to navigate efficiently and are filled with lameness. Am I correct?

BTW **Hakuna Matata **those links are great.

I am however looking for something a bit more investment minded.
I am not quite ready for retirement.

Yes. Pump and dumpers, flame wars, low signal to noise ratio at its worst.

These two free daily updates are teasers from a for-profit company that will heavily encourage you to buy their paid newsletters, but there’s nothing requiring you to do so, and I have found the analysis and explanations from just the free ones to be pretty thoughtful, clear, and in some cases, prescient.

It’s exactly that.

Hakuna’s suggestion of Bogleheads.org is the right choice IMO.

I don’t know if you’re looking for general finance or something more specifically geared toward investing, but both the blog and forums at GetRichSlowly can offer some really great advice and general finance tips.

If you go into the forums I suggested they have investment forums, but the main purpose of the forums is for early retirement. But there is lots of good investment info there and those posters on those forums are good resources of information in my opinion.

I started at the Fool, and it is a good site for understanding investments, etc, but I rarely go there now. My main focus is the early retirement sites as I am trying to pull the trigger here within the next 6 years at age 55.

What I enjoy about them is that they are serious investors and you don’t get a lot of ‘lameness’ factor going on. In my opinion you can’t go wrong on any of those boards , early retirement just means you invested wisely  But ifyou just want strictly investment advice–I would probably suggest the boglehead site.
