I’ve never figured out which way you’re supposed to position your hands so you get accurate measurement. If my palm is turned slightly this way, my ring finger is long, and if it’s turned slightly that way my index finger is longer.
My ring finger is significantly shorter than my ring finger, but if I move my hand a certain way, they appear to be closer the same length. Oddly enough, my penis varies in length as well, so I suspect there may be a connection.

I thought the index finger was the first finger (aside from the thumb)? If that’s the case, isn’t everyone’s index finger shorter than the ring finger?
The article though seems to be saying that it’s the middle finger that they’re calling the “second index finger” and the fourth finger is what they’re calling the ring finger. Even so, I don’t recall having seen anyone with a shorter middle finger than fourth finger either.
Well, my index finger and my ring finger seem to be the same length. But my fingernail is a lot longer on my index finger so…oh, wait. I don’t have a penis.
