Fire in Antelope Valley

I step outside my door and on the hills about 7 miles from me I see a pretty big brush fire. It has to be big for me to see it from this distance. It must have started today since it was not there last night. It looks like the fire is in Lancaster but I could be misjudging the distance. Google apparently has not caught wind of it yet.

‘You know you’ve been in the Antelope Valley too long when you think of Joshua trees as actual trees.’

‘You know you’ve been in the Antelope Valley too long when you stop wondering why water flows out of the storm drains at 10th & I.’ Did they ever get that fixed?

I’m not seeing anything for yesterday on a google news search. I’d be interested if you find out anything.

Where are you? I used to live near 23rd St W and Ave. L.

His (?) profile says Palmdale, so I’m confused. What hills? If it’s north, it would be Rosamond, not Lancaster.

Inciweb doesn’t seem to have anything at this time.

small plane crash in Tehachapi

I live on Palmdale Blvd and Division St and I could clearly see the flames from my window looking North-North-West.

I assumed it was on the hills that were just West of Highway 14 but I did not go check.

I’m pretty sure Lancaster is North of Palmdale. Rosamond is way more North. I have not even been there yet.

If that is what I was looking at then I really misjudged the distance by nearly an order of magnitude. :smack:

I am shocked there are other antelope valley dopers! I just moved from California City to Edwards. Hi neighbors

I’m very well to the north, these days. But hi!

Yes, I’m further east now, in Colorado since 1991ish.

Dude. I grew up in Rosamond. I know where it is.
