Fired LAPD Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal

What’s so funny about it? Cops often have to leave themselves exposed in order to approach or pin down suspects (as photo linked in the post just above yours illustrates). It’s not that hard for someone in a cabin or behind a tree to pick them off, especially if they’re a trained marksman such as Dorner is.

He gained 750 experience points, too. One more successful shot and he gains a level.

That these cops keep screwing up. First they shoot up a car that kind of looks like his, then they have him holed up in a cabin and still get shot. The massive fucked-up-ness of this case isn’t funny (innocent people being shot galore), but I’m kind of face palming a little bit.

[del]That’s not what happened[/del] I guess that is what happened. But I’m not seeing the humor.

But there is no equivalence between the two incidents. I agree wholeheartedly that the hysterical bozos who shot up the two trucks in LA were fuckups, but near as I can tell the two deputies who were shot near the cabin where Dorner is holed up were shot while approaching the cabin and attempting to find out, a.) if anyone was there; and b.) if so, was it Dorner? What happened to them was the equivalent of a cop approaching a car he’d just pulled over in a remote area which appeared to be one in which some bad guys had fled, and he gets shot approaching the car. There are times when cops have to get out into the open and expose themselves in order to carry out their jobs. The two guys in the photo I referred to are a good example. Those guys are hardly fuckups. They are a couple of brave guys putting their lives on the line and exposing themselves to grave danger in order to try to capture or kill a very bad and dangerous person.

He’s barricaded in a cabin/small house.

It’s 3:35 PM in California. I predict he’s dead by 10 PM.

I rarely have sympathy for policemen, unless they are helping me, but yes, these guys are doing what cops are supposed to do.

Thanks for the link – they are reporting that one of the two San Bernadino county deputies that were shot has now died. They are searching every vehicle coming down from Big Bear and they think they have him cornered.

Also, I didn’t catch all of it but apparently he has been holed up very close to where his burned out truck was found.

Let’s hope he doesn’t use darkness to slip out of the cabin and hike away. I heard one report that he cold some cold weather survival training in Alaska.

Nah, I think they’ll wait to 3:00 AM or so to give them time to get ready and hopefully have Dorner sleep deprived.

Just listened to the audio of the gunfire that (as I understand it) killed the cop today. Dorner needs to be over and done with.

There is reporter on scene and they are replaying tape of his report which captured sounds of the gunfight, so sad to think that it resulted in someone’s death. They are currently gassing the cabin for the second time.

Edited: Yes, Asmovian – hopefully the lack of gunfire means Dorner put himself out of everyone’s misery. Strange to see the aerial view of the teargas. The cabin is now on fire.

I’m gonna say he isn’t even there. They’re shooting up an Asian grandma’s house. But Grandma’s shooting back, and she’s more practiced at shooting than the cops.

Reporting that the cabin is on fire now.

“Engulfed” in flames…although their definition of engulfed is different from mine.

I don’t think anyone is broadcasting live video of the cabin itself, are they? The station I am watching was recycling earlier video of the broadcast when they first fired tear gas.

I’m watching this feed which is apparently live and above the scene. It definitely showed the black fire smoke drifting up and since I’ve been watching it (2 hours now) there hasn’t been any commercials.

Now they are saying he got out.

Yep, that feed is definitely live…it’s showing the flames now.

And that would qualify as “engulfed” I believe. No fire personnel on scene, this could get even worse.
