Last night Firefox started behaving differently for me. I use 2.0 on a Mac.
When I create another tab, then click in the address bar, the “untitled” becomes surrounded by a blue border and I can’t edit it. I can create new windows and the first instance works as expected. I can select links in the Bookmarks in any tabbed window and that works. Clicking in the address bar used to work fine on all tabbed windows. I suspected I had become infected and DLed another copy. Same thing. I checked the Add-ons menu and the only thing installed (as far as Firefox is willing to tell me) is talk-back from Mozilla. So, did I pick up an infection that hides itself from easy detection? I assume that an add-on could be written to not display it’s name in the list, and install itself in all copies of Firefox, so that is my guess. But does anyone recognize this behavior? thanks
