Firefox doesn't play Flash videos

And so, for my first OP since renewing my subscription (lost my “Charter” status, but I don’t mind), a simple question…

Why won’t Firefox play anything in Flash anymore??

All downloads are current. I made sure of it. I know that Flash is still working, because the videos play just fine in Chrome. I’ve made no changes whatsoever to options or settings.

It started as soon as I downloaded the new Adobe reader, if that’s any help.

(Swear to god, my PCjr wasn’t this wonky…)

Have you tried downloading and reinstalling Flash from within Firefox?

How? The Flash site requires me to save the file to my computer before downloading.

(Sigh…I liked Firefox…not looking forward to spending half the day moving stuff back to Chrome…grumble…)

Did a setting get changed? Might want to see if you have something disabled in your settings that should be enabled. Also check for any new add-ons that may have come with Adobe Reader and see if those have anything to do with it.

Well, so do that. Reinstall Flash. I can assure you that Flash still works with the latest Firefox.

Firefox 13 was buggy for me and Flash vids were stuttering or not even show.

You tube, Flash Games and Flash Advertisement would play though.

I installed 12…then it auto reinstalled 13…the bug went away.

I updated Firefox with the most recent version a few days ago and Flash Player is working fine.

Downloading the most recent version of Flash Player may help.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Flash plugin for Mozilla (which is completely separate from the “normal” Flash player). It works fine now.

Meh. If uninstalling the old version is necessary to avoid problems, it should just do that automatically. Not cool giving me such a big scare (especially with the help sites completely ignorant of this problem, as always).

Thanks, all! This is a beautiful site!
