Firefox question

I switched to Firefox a few months back and prefer it to Explorer in every way but one: the location bar. Is there a way to have the locations one selects come to the top of the bar a la Explorer in Firefox? Right now, all of the sites I always use are at the bottom because I accessed them first and I have to scroll though a bunch of sites that I may have used just once to get to them.

Are you talking about the sort order of bookmarks?

If so, you can change it like this:

type about:config in the address bar
In the filter box at the top, type sort
One of the config items displayed will be browser.bookmarks.sort.direction
Double click it and you will be prompted for a new value (default is **descending **- you can type in ascending)

I asked this a month or so ago. It is one of the few things about Firefox that I don’t like.

I didn’t find a good answer yet. I’ll be watching this thread too.

Here’s my best advice, and I really think you should follow it:

Don’t use the ‘recent URLs in the address bar’ method of revisiting sites. Learn to keep bookmarks. It gives you a lot more control, and is in fact a faster and more reliable method.

If you choose not to use bookmarks, then you will just have to deal with the Firefox method of storing its ‘recent URLs’.
