Firefox- Why do random words in forums become links?

This (for me anyway) is a recent Firefox phenomenon- in all different forums, there’ll be random words in posts which become links, usually to some sales site. I, at first, clicked them thinking it was something the poster had intended. Of course, now I ignore them, and they go away if I reload the page. WTF

You’ve picked up a bit of malware somewhere. See the sticky at the top of this forum. The firefox support forums also have good info on how to get rid of it.

Depends on the site. If it’s happening here, then yes, that’s the case, but some sites have it built in as ad revenue.
