Firewire Video Output

I have for a while now been quite happily using a DV camcorder that allows me to output my video that I take with it to my computer’s IEEE 1394 plug.

I noticed, today, that by the plug on the camcorder was the label DV In/Out. I looked back at the manual, and it showed a connection between two identical little cameras.

That got me to wondering, is there any way I can OUTPUT video and audio by the same firewire method? Such would be useful, as I could capture videos of my computer without the hassle and expense of computer S-Video out and audio out, to TV, to VCR, copyed from VHS to DVD-R, and then back to Computer.

What computer/OS? It should certainly be possible. Doing it without FireWire is asinine. What program(s) are you using?

Yes, 1394 is capable of carrying video and audio signals at the same time, so if the ends (i.e. the computer and the camera) send it, it should get there.
