I just ran across this story from 2004, which says:
Unfortunately, the link to an animation the researchers made is broken, and the site it points to, http://www.chn.ir/, doesn’t have the file, boz.avi. Google returned only 9 hits for the file, none of which seem to help.
Can anybody steer me to a source for the animation?
It reminds me of an early cartoon that could have been done in the early 1900s, or someone’s first Flash animation. You could call it Gary the Goat Eats a Plant. I have this image in my head of a bunch of ancient Iranian cartoons engraved on urns.
It would be nice if the modern folks who “animated” it used the full “frames” from the vase instead of fudging it a bit by isolating the animal and reusing the plants and rules from one panel for each frame. So what if the leaves wiggle?
Thanks, Larry! I agree the full .avi would be better, but the .gif is pretty good anyway. I’ll search some more today - it was late and I was tired, so I just left it in your capable hands.
