First DVD with commentary?

I got a DVD player well after DVD’s first started to come out. I really enjoy all the extra features like the commentary track. Anyone know what the first major movie was that had the commentary track? I’d like to listen to that and see how things have changed since then.

The material from a lot of the earliest DVDs were just copied from laserdiscs, where commentaries first appeared. So I think the question should be, which laserdisc had the first commentary?

It would be one of the Criterion collection if we go back to laserdisk. They’re the ones who originated the idea of using the alternative sound track on laserdisk for comentary.
