Well, two reviews have come in for Fellowship of the Ring and both say the movie is amazing.
One reviewer had minor(extremely minor) qualms with the first hour, but both loved the movie as a whole. The ain’t it cool reviewer is a huge fan of LOTR, so his review is particularly interesting. Here are the links.
You know, even setting aside all artistic considerations, what a wonderful story LotR is and how much I love it – it has Viggo Mortensen and Sean Bean! I mean, really!
Just got done watching “The Quest For The Ring” on Fox. I didn’t think it was possible, but that movie looks even better than I had hoped, and I want to see it even more than before.
This is the first non-starwars movie that I’ve ever thought it would be worth it to stand in line an hour to get the best seats.
Dark Horizons states that Peter Travers from Rolling Stone (actually not a bad critic) has named it the Best Film of the Year. All very encouraging so far… (taped that FOX special but haven’t watched it yet)
Yeah, I had been wondering if these films would be Academy Award possibilities. It’s starting to sound like they might just be. Obviously, they are set to win the technical awards(SFX, Editing, Sound), but FOTR might be nominated for Best Picture, especialy in this dull year of movies.
