First five songs on your iPod

Alphabetically:
AB - Slowdive
Ab joi et ab joven m’apais - Jordi Savall
Abraham - Sufjan Stevens
Abram - Jose Gonzales
Absalon, fili mi - Josquin Desprez

Shuffle:
Meet Ze Monsta - PJ Harvey
Nothing is Worth Losing That - Telefon Tel Aviv
Just a Closer Walk with Thee - Mahalia Jackson
Bag O’Miracles - Eagles of Death Metal
Another Space Song - Failure

What an unusual idea…also, my mp3 player lists song with a space before it first, then ones that begin with non-alphanumerics, then numbers, and THEN begins alphabetically. But to start with A:

A Bath by the Sea – Vladimir Cosma
A Beautiful Life (La Bella Vita) – Lindsay Lohan
A Bomb in the Hotel – Eric Serra (The Fifth Element soundtrack)
A Boy from Nowhere – Tom Jones
A Brisa Do Coracao, Part 1 – Ennio Morricone
And because others are doing it:

Shuffled:
Green, Green Grass of Home – Tom Jones
Tropical Ice-Land – Fiery Furnaces
Paranoid Android – Radiohead
Lonely days, Lonely Nights – Johnnie Allan
Wish (Komm Zu Mir) – Run Lola Run soundtrack

Oddly, I think the alphabetical list is more representative of my music collection (although both, even taken together, don’t really represent it very well at all).

Well, to be nitpicky, the Elliot Smith song is Sweet Adeline. Which I have.

Abracadabra- Judee Sill
Absolutely Sweet Marie- Bob Dylan
Academy Fight Song- Mission of Burma
Ace of Spades- Motorhead (oh jeez :smack:)
Act Nice and Gentle- The Kinks

and shuffled…

I’m In Love- The dB’s
Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others- The Smiths
The Queen of Eyes- The Soft Boys
Harmony in My Head- The Buzzcocks
Give Back the Key to My Heart- Uncle Tupelo

Wow! That went a lot better than it usually does.

Alphabetically —
Above Ground, Norah Jones
Accelerate, REM
Affairs of the Heart, Fleetwood Mac
Africa Bamba, Santana
After the Fire is Gone, Loretta Lynn

I don’t know how to do a shuffle list. When I hit shuffle it just starts playing. (I have an iPod touch.)

I alphabetized all my songs in order to post to this thread by unchecking everything in “View Options”, but now I can’t get them back like they were. They used to be grouped by album, with the songs in album order. iTunes did this automatically when I uploaded my CDs, and singles purchased from iTunes were intermingled alphabetically. Does anyone know how I can get them back into that sequence? (I’ve tried checking all sorts of stuff in View Options, but to no avail. Also, I’m on a PC, not a Mac.)

I am on a Mac, but I am pretty sure this is standard. After you go into “view options” and check the boxes of whatever you want to show up, click on the “album” heading. That should fix it.

Die Walkure is on it now.

Vorspiel
Wes Herd dies auch sei Siegmund
Kuhlende Labung gab mir der Quell! Siegmund
Mud am Herd fand ich den Mann Sieglinde
Friedmund darf ich nicht heissen Siegmund

Eureka! That did it.

Who knew it’d be so simple? Thanks.

Odd - I know I have A Fond Farewell on CD, but it’s not on my iPod. Yay, I started a usefull thread! upload

Abie Baby-Broadway Musical Hair
About a Girl-Nirvana
Ace of Spades-Motorhead
The Adventure-Angels and Airwaves
Aenema-Tool

I alphabetize by artist, year, album, track, then finally song title, so the first 5 on my playlist are:

A-Teens - Mamma Mia
A-Teens - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme
A-Teens - Super Trouper
A-Teens - One of Us
A-Teens - Voulez-Vous

Shuffled:

Blackmore’s Night - Waiting for You
They Might Be Giants - Clap Your Hands
The Who - We’re Not Gonna Take It
Harry Chapin - 30,000 Pounds of Bananas
Enya - The Memory of Trees

Ashokan Farewell—The Civil War
Lili Marlene—Marlene Dietrich
Le Boudin—French Foreign Legion
The Last Unicorn—America
The Making of a Cyborg—Ghost in the Shell OST
Alphabetically:

“Death to the Blasphemer!”—Alexander Nevsky
“The Last Valley”—John Barry
(Ghost) Riders in the Sky—The Outlaws
(Let’s Have) A Patrick Swayze Christmas—Mystery Science Theater 3000

Not counting track numbers, parentheses and quotation marks, the first five would be:

1492: Conquest of Paradise—Vangelis
1812 Overkill—Extreme Music
A Hero Comes Home—Idina Menzel
A Holly Jolly Christmas—Burl Ives
A Little Less Conversation—Elvis vs JXL
So, as you can see, I’m quite mad.
