The feeder has been up for a week, during the unexpected freeze. I saw him today, Mrs. Plant says he was here yesterday when she drove up from work. He charged her van.
You are obviously no where near Detroit. Poor bird would have to be de-iced for takeoff!
He showed up from Guatemala or where he goes, the day after the jet stream came down and gave us the last freeze.
Last spring, on one of the first really warm days, my daughter left the house to go to school and noticed a very tiny hummingbird near a bush in our yard. As she walked past, the hummingbird flew into the side of her head, bounced off, and flew into her again before giving up. She said it was like being attacked by a very angry walnut.

I donโt believe the hummer finds it all that pointless, but whatever.
Tell your hummer to stick wherever you are - we are due 3-5 inches of snow in the next day or so. Stay warm, little feller!
