First Walmart, now Toys R Us turns deadly.

Two people are shot and killed at a Toys R Us in California. In a dispute over some toys. Yeah, toys. The only reason this isn’t in the pit is because I’m too stunned to spew the vitriol this deserves.

What I saw of that initially was those two wanted to kill each other and that it just happened at a toy store. No indication that it was over a toy. Interesting to know that some dudes are strapped when they go shopping. I think I’ll stick to teh Intranets.

This article says that witnesses are claiming it started as a fight over a toy that escalated. What kind of moron brings a gun into a Toys R Us?

The article I read this morning said they were rival gang members, and it had nothing to do with shopping.

Um, hi. I carry a pistol occasionally, and I have also been known at times to purchase goods or services from retail establishments, probably including a Toys R Us or a similar purveyor at some point. I think a better question to ask is, “what kind of moron would get into a fight over a toy and then escalate to lethal violence?” Hell, what kind of moron gets into a fight over a toy in the first place? A person with such fragile self-control shouldn’t be carrying a gun anywhere - the specific location is irrelevant.

This makes the most sense. That area of the high desert has terrible problems with gangs, drugs, poverty and racial tensions.

You’re kidding, right? Some people carry firearms on a routine basis. I don’t think we can expect them to say, “Oops! I’m walking into a toy store. Better leave the gun in my car.”

Did you not read the OP? Obviously, it can come in handy.

The fullest story I read said the fight started between two women over a toy, and they got their men into it, and that’s when both men pulled their guns. I have no doubt that it was also a gang rivalry thang.

In Minnesota, we have CCW but you’re not allowed to bring them into stores, so yeah, we CAN expect them to leave them in the cars. There’s certainly no excuse for bringing them around children like that.

Two people blasting away inside a toy store isn’t enough? We should have 50 of them doing it? Yeah, that would make things safe for the kiddies.

It was a joke.

This is why we need to arm the kiddies.

Please tell me the shooters killed each other.
