Why are fishermen called anglers? Where did the term come from?
I know my roomate says that Angler (On-Gla) is German for Fisherman. Don’t know if that helps, mostly just wanted to brag about the 28" Pike I caught yesterday. - JC
It’s old english and german, according to m-w;
