"Fix Me and My Stuff" Threads

Lately there has been a proliferation of threads in GQ asking for help solving problems ranging from computers and cars, to medical and wardrobe advice. In only the past two days, here are some examples that have appeared:

Car repair question - drive belts on a Honda
Electricians - Help me diagnose my vaccuum
computer troubles, again?
Help me fix my gas oven
Fixing the paint on car bumpers
How to get rid of woodpecker?
PC assistance, if you don’t mind…
How do I stop my room from smelling like me?
How do I securely fasten “tree trunk lights” to the tree?
automobile question: park a car in which gear on a slope ?
Printer settings
Computer question
Math Help - logarithms
Surrendering plates- big problem. Help!
A goldfish question- warning: may be TMI!
Desperate Sartorial Help Reqd
Midnight snack?
My computer is goofy…HELP!
Cousin with a pretty much paralyzed arm.Recovery chances…?
Strange Foxpro problem.

Since these are rarely questions of fact, which elicit a variety of opinions on how to fix whatever is broken, shouldn’t they be in IMHO? Or is it time for a new forum dedicated to Fix Me and My Stuff (FMAMS!)

I think we need a new forum for “People With Too Much Time On Their Hands And/Or Not Enough Work To Do”.

But I like the idea of a “Fix Me And My Stuff” Forum.

Redundant, DDG. In case you haven’t noticed, we already have nine such forums.

While I usually feel like suggesting we need a forum called “What forums do we need Forum” I do agree with the sentiment of this OP.

Adding anything to MPSIMS is a nightmare; it and GQ have a huge turnover rate. I’m suprised anything gtes answered at all! :stuck_out_tongue:
