My pharmacist told me it’s some allergic reaction, but he didn’t see the flakyness and just the redness because the flakyness started later. I assumed it was just an allergic reaction since i had some BBQ pork that might’ve been undercooked(if that matters at all).
But it’s been staying around for longer than my pharmacist said it would, and i’m beginning to get a little annoyed (and worried). Oh and i have this habit of rubbing my eyes pretty often. So anyone have any idea what this might be?
I am not a doctor!
I did have the same problem though. An optomitrist (not a medical doctor) recommended the following: Dilute Johnson’s baby shampoo with water, about ten parts water to one part shampoo. Every day, as part of your shower, wash your eyes with some of this solution. If this is going to work for you, you should see results in just three or four days.

also not a doctor chiming in-
this sounds like you may have impetigo. the original allergic reaction gave you the redness, and you kept rubbing your eyes. this irritated the already-sensitive skin, and the problem has spiraled round on itself. rubbing made skin more irritated, which made the rubbing more frequent, etc.
again, not a doctor! but if i were in your shoes i would take some benedryl until i could see my doc. to keep the swelling and itching (does it itch, or is it just hurting?) down, pop one or two- but don’t use cream or gel! not around your eyes.
ice pacs, or ideally cool damp cloths (perhaps even chilled cucumber slices) will also help; plus, they’ll stop you from rubbing your eyes so much.
seriously, i am not a doctor. i have no medical background, and i am most definitely ignorant in the eye department (i worked for an ear-nose-throat doctor).

Well it doesn’t actually itch, I just have a habit of rubbing my eyes when i’m tired and i’ve been really tired lately (how does a 13+5 hour plane ride sound?). and it doesn’t appear to be swollen. To be more specific the color is more of a dark purplish red.
Thanks for the info. Keep 'em coming!
Oh, now that i look at pictures of impetigo, i don’t think that’s what i have. It kinda stings and my eye keeps tearing too…
You might be allergic to whatever soap you’re using.
There ARE ointments you can use close to your eyes - but you MUST get one from a doctor. It will reduce the inflammation and allow healing, after which you have to find out what’s causing the problem and deal with it.
You could also get dry skin around your eyes, which might require a moisturizer. Again, since it’s so close to the eyes, you need to go to a doctor for this.
