Whenever the computer boots to windows it flickers then stops after windows is completely up. Is this a problem?
If your screen is working when your computer boots up and then takes a dump when windows takes over, it means that the driver that windows is using for your monitor or video card is not the correct one.
Next time you boot up, as soon as windows starts booting hit F5 about a million times and wait for the menu to appear. Choose ‘Safe Mode’ and go into the device manager and look to see what driver it is using for the monitor and the video card. You COULD remove them and reboot, letting windows refind them and add the drivers for them (be sure to have your windows cd handy!) or you could change them to something generic (standard VGA for video and standard 800x600 for monitor).
That will at least make your machine usable.
