Good choice. All major US carriers suck. Might as well go with the flight plan that appeals to you.
I think Southwest is the only airline in the US that still has stopping flights like that.
They do. A week ago my wife and I did a Southwest 40 minute change with two kids in tow. Our incoming flight was 20 minutes late. Luckily so was our outgoing flight. I think if enough people are going to fall short they delay the second flight but I’m glad we didn’t have to find out. I imagine it’s hard to say if lots of displaced people is more disruptive then another late flight.
Too late now, but he was smart to go with the nonstop. SFO does not have a good on-time departure record. There are lots of issues with fog and the like. OAK, right across the bay, is much better.
I would have said the same thing until very recently, but my Atlanta to Seattle flight two days ago on Delta was surpringly pleasant. New plane with USB charging at the seats, efficient loading and unloading, and 40 minutes early. I was driving away from the off site parking lot, checked bag in hand, at the scheduled touch down time. Maybe it was just blind luck, but that specific experience was pretty good.
