Our’s hadn’t even started dropping. Sure, the river dropped back under the road, but there’s still alot of HUGE puddle/ponds. Even earlier today when it was compleatly ‘dry’ out you could still see alot of water flowing off of any big (pitched) fields.
Had a really enjoyable day paddling on what last week was far too shallow to paddle: [http://my.tbaytel.net/culpeperlaw/McIntyre Creek 20080608131554000.jpg](http://my.tbaytel.net/culpeperlaw/McIntyre Creek 20080608131554000.jpg)
Oh, my fields are still flooded, my new road (put in a few weeks ago) got blown out at the swail, and I still have to drive thru 6 inches of water to get from my garage to the town road, but before the last round of storms, the water in my driveway had backed off about a foot!
But we live within yards of Lake Michigan, so it runs off fast fast fast here.
And if the river’s under the road by you, that’s a big dropoff!
River was the wrong word. It’s more of a drainage creek for the airport. From what I could tell it looked like it was about 6 inches over the road last night and this morning it looked like it was a about a foot and a half under it.
Thanks for the update, Danja! I grew up in Columbus, IN and have been following this in the online version of the Republic. Stay safe!
It’s pouring rain, again. There is more rain to the southwest of here, and it is heading this way.
Just what we do not need.
Saint Paul, MN. Some small hail for one storm. Rain on and off. Nothing too wild. Tornado 30 or so miles to the northeast killed a little girl. Pretty normal spring all told. It could stand to be a bit warmer.
Milwaukee. Our basement only had a little water in it, but some good friends of ours who only live a mile away weren’t so lucky. They had 6 inches in their basement. Most of it, including their awesome 1970’s-style bar, is destroyed.
