I’m not sure if I’ll be in a position to drive that distance in 90 days however. At the moment I’m in the process of moving to O-Town, so money is going to be tight for a while. Maybe a smaller roadtrip for Floridians who don’t live so close to the Panhandle is in order. I’ll definately keep in in mind.

Be careful down there in Florida, they might try to insert a feeding tube. Be sure you make clear to them that it is a Dopefest and it’s a drinking tube that you require.

Okay, maybe if we do it this way. Could everyone thinking of coming send an email to me (check the profile) and give me yes or no answers to every date between the 1st and the 10th of July and mark your favourite. (if these dates are alright with you harmy) like so:
Friday 1 = yes
Saturday 2 = no
Sunday 3 = yes (favourite)
That way I can see which date would be the best for everyone, or at least the majority. Also could you guys, if you are willing, give me your general location. It might be an idea to set up some car pools if there is long distance travelling.
I’m afraid the whole July 4th weekend is taken up for me. I don’t know about the next weekend. And I’m in central Florida (Polk County) so it’d be a largish drive for me, too. So as much as I’d like to meet you, it probably isn’t happening. 
If I drive from Fort Myers, I’d be passing through a whole lot of Florida. I might be able to pick up up to 3 dopers (or 5 really friendly Dopers). It would be a matter of directions and matching schedules.
It’s not entirely out of the question that I might attend. But Tallahassee? Damn. That’s, like, South Georgia. And I don’t have the greatest track record for attending Florida dopefests (I’ve backed out of two in the past). But jeez, I’d sure love to make it to one some day. Maybe this will be the one.

O-Town is what many of the radio personalities call Orlando, and that sounds like a capital idea. Only thing is, I don’t know if I can get those days off right now. I’ll get back to you on whether or not we can arrange this a week before July 4th. Before I can confirm anything, I need to know how easy it is getting requested days off at my new job, and how tight money is going to be a few months from now.
Hehe - I live 15 miles south of Chipley, and I own goats. If you really want to sic one on pestie, I could bring my Trained Attack Goat. He’s a mean old smelly bastige.

Sorry, didn’t see this before. Don’t know why, but apparently I wasn’t paying attention. Also, it’s fairly doubtful that I can make it, but if you’re down this way… how far is Tallahassee from Tampa, anyway? About 4-5 hours? We were in Cape Coral/Fort Meyers this past weekend, which is only a couple-three hours and it seemed like forever. Honda CR-Vs are not made for long drives. But I’ll check in from time to time and if the schedule works for us and I’ve forgotten how sore my butt is then… well, we’ll see.

If I’m not busy trying to work my butt off during that weekend, I might join in. (The goal of this summer is to make enough money to be able to afford a car that’ll drive me around town and not kill me on frequent gas refills.)
