Florida GOP Primary 01/31/2012

I see what you did there.

Oh, they’re indigestible.

Next debate 8pm Thursday 01/26/12, University of North Florida, Jacksonville.

Put in your drinking-game suggestions early, we can’t use 'em all.

Newt’s lead is starting to slip in Florida. Does anyone know if tomorrow’s debates will allow audience responses?

Slip? It’s vanished, and Romney’s back in the driver’s seat, at least temporarily.

Look at the pattern of the polls Nate Silver cites at your link:

The SC primary was on January 21. Today’s January 25.

Dates that polls Who's
were in the field: Ahead: Lead:

Jan. 22 Newt 8%
Jan. 22-23 Newt 4%
Jan. 23 Mitt 2%
Jan. 23-24 Mitt 9%
Jan. 24 Mitt 10%

Damn, this race has had more swings than George of the Jungle. Newt’s got one last chance to swing this thing back his way, in tomorrow night’s debate. Otherwise, it’s watch out for that tree!

I think Mitt won the debate on Monday. Newt has got to be a bigger angrier asshole. It seems to be what is resonating with Repiblicans this year

I have heard Newt is planning to bite the head off a live chicken Thursday night. Should get him a LOT of GOP voters!

It would help if the chicken was a member of the liberal media though.

It all depends on tonight’s debate. If it turns into another raucous affair, Newt will pick up steam again. If not…

Newt reminds me of a shock jock. He’s got to keep topping himself to stay in the lead.

I agree, and you know Newt has seen the polling results, so expect a loud, raucous affair.

In other words, he should go with his strengths.

Win.

Ah well, it was a fun week while it lasted. We know return you to your regularly scheduled Romney March of Inevidibility. Maybe there’s still time in the primary schedule to let us spend a week pretending Paul might win before Romney locks it in?

Watching the debate right now, and I just realized that Ron Paul looks a lot like Mr. Magoo, especially when he’s laughing. I hope he stays in until the end!

I’d rather not hear what Newt is doing with the future Mrs. Newt the fourth. Maybe that would be Marie Osmond so he can get in front of any Mormon challengers for 2016.

Jeeze, guy. Don’t give Newt any ideas!

Think Paul and Santorum will stay in the race after this primary? If not, at what point will they drop out? After Super Tuesday?

I’m pretty sure Paul will be around for quite some time. I got the impression tonight he’s having too much fun to quit.

I think the Republicans are finding that a small amount of Santorum goes a long way. More is unlikely to be welcome by large numbers of party faithful. But, I expect only time will tell how quickly Santorum will fade.

Paul’s not dropping out until the last primary is over. He had even worse polling numbers in 2008 and that didn’t stop him from maintaining a campaign until June.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think Ron Paul doesn’t sped a lot of money on his campaign. He gets a lot of grass roots support, so he can keep going where the others would fade. Hang in there, Ronnie. We love seeing you in the debates!
