Florida wildfires

Haven’t seen any threads on this yet. Any Dopers dealing with the fires in this area?
I live north of the huge fires that consume southwest Lee, Charlotte, Collier and Hendry counties, but the smoke is definitely catching us here. It’s tapered off now, but I could smell it when I woke up this morning at 6.30. All through my drive to work, the sky was hazy.

Hillsborough and Pinellas county here, specifically Tampa and St. Pete, and yeah, it is hazy as heck around here. The sun is almost blotted and it smells someone is bar-b-q’ing. Not irritating my eyes or anything but a few co-workers are coughing because of it.

It’s pretty hazy here in Gainesville as well. I don’t have a sense of smell, so that doesn’t bother me, although it is disconcerting to have to breathe gray air. However, relief is in sight, since we have a 20% chance of rain today. :dubious:

In Duval the wind occasionally brings in the smoke.

There’s another threadopen in MPSIMS.

You can smell the smoke in the air.

Oddly, it’s bothering my husband more than it’s bothering me, although he smokes and I don’t.
