Floridians past and present

Can you recommend paved bike trails in Florida? Or a source for information on this subject? I have Jeff Kurneth’s book, but need more information.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Since you’re looking for recommendations, I’ll move this thread to IMHO

Great, now that I no longer work for a very large avian conservation organization in Florida, you ask this question. And I could even still tell you which on shelves the recreation books are stacked in the library!!! But for now…

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy creates multi-use public trails from old rail lines and connecting corridors.

Go to their trail finding site to find converted trails in any state (or section of the state) and the US Virgin Islands. They even list wheelchair accessible trails!

And happy biking. Or horseback riding. Or cross-country skiing. Or whatever.

screech-owl, thanks. That is a great site; just what I was looking for. We will be biking, thanks–horses make good glue and cross country skiing just hasn’t caught on in Florida.

No problem (except for the glue part…I’m in too good of a mood to retort to that).

Annnnnnnnnyway, are you in Seminole County or the City of Seminole? Off-board answer would be fine.
