Flying Scooter!

Broomstick.

Ya need to splain to them about bomb dropping and balloon busting with normal aircraft that climb faster than 300/f/m

Bawahahahhaa

Great! So if all of you buying one would please give me your DOB and SS# I will get to work buying million dollar insurance policies on your lives.

They look like flying death machines to me.

Well, My Nephew-in-law took a couple of lessons, had no aviation experience, got himself one of these and did just fine with it.

YMMV

Assuming that a canopy attaches to that and the thing flies, your NIL is violating the law. You can fly an ultralight without a license, as long as it has only one seat. Two seat ultralights can only be made for the purposes of instruction. Any person flying a two seat ultralight, unless a student flying with an instructor, must have an ultralight insctructor’s license.

Unless the law changed since last time I checked.

Whoever that is is five years too late.

This thing has supposedly been in development since '87.

I don’t believe the statement was made that that picture is an actual representation of the nephew in question. It may be just a random example plucked off the internet because no actual picture of the nephew was handy.

You wish.

Last time I went flying I was climbing at 1200 feet per minute. In something far, far more manuverable than the flying scooter.

:stuck_out_tongue:

You misrepresented yourself, Sir.
No doubt to Lull Us Into a Sense of False Security.
Shame on you!

How long have you been on the Dope? And you don’t know that Broomstick is a) a woman, and b) a pilot?

About five years and 10,000 posts.

Just to be clear, my intent was ‘That picture depicts illegal activity. Quick, take it down before somebody sees it.’ rather than ‘Your nephew-in-law is committing a crime, and I am so gonna tell on him.’

RE The Airbike

I had some problems with that page. I’m curious whether the Airbike people are just trying to con people out of money without actually breaking the law, or if like Moller they sincerely believe that the big breakthrough will come next month and production will begin next year.

That’s why I said “supposedly”. The site has been taken down except for the homepage, and that hasn’t been updated in a year.
