I would bring a bottle for feeding, just the thought of trying to get in a calm state of mind while preparing the baby to take a breast while on a crowded flight makes me break out in a sweat. There’s not much elbow room in coach.
In my experience (as a fellow passenger), breast-feeding works better. The baby will fuss and spit and whimper piteously for a bit before taking the bottle, but will latch right onto Mom and settle down immediately.
They also love being walked up and down the aisle on Dad’s shoulder, but that’s not always an option.
Ideally, your spouse is sitting beside you and can stand in the aisle while you get set up.
