Folding dirty laundry: crazy or normal?

If I’m staying at someone’s house, I ask if they want me to strip the bed or not. If they do, I make a bundle of the dirty linens, not fold them.

'Cause I’m not, yanno, crazy.

:dubious:

Maybe this is a thread of it’s own, but can anyone produce any cites that folding the dirty laundry before putting it back in the suitcase saves anymore room than just throwing it in?

It would be the same amount of cloth whether it is folded or no. But when folded, there is a lot of empty space where the edges of the stacked folded clothes don’t touch. Unfolded, they could fill in that space much easier.

I prefer the fold and roll method for clean clothes. The wasted space is the price for unwrinkled clothes.

Much like Dogzilla, I pack a tall kitchen garbage bag for laundry. I wear the clothes and shove them in the bag unfolded. I always have room for souvenirs that wasn’t there when I originally packed, though not all that much extra room.

BTW, if you have clean clothes coming home that you didn’t wear (doing a load of laundry at your destination doesn’t count), you’ve overpacked.
