I suspect that I’ve got you beat but you definitely have my sympathies.
I don’t know… My record was actually a few years ago. Ordered a part from a guy in Port Angeles WA to be delivered to Victoria BC. I can literally see Port Angeles from a hill near my house. They are 22 miles apart.
I followed the package as it made it’s way to Seattle. Then, it slowly meandered across many states. It looked like the truck driver(s) took a break for a week somewhere in South Dakota. Finally made it’s way to Detroit. Stayed for a while. Then over to Mississauga Ontario. Spent a week in customs. Then I followed it along the Trans-Canada Highway as it made it’s way on the 2,500 mile journey back to me.
Total time: 6 weeks. Total distance covered: Over 5000 miles.
Or Burlington, Vermont.
That was my thought.
There is an Ontario, California, after all. “Ontario, CA” tends to confuse people who don’t know there’s a city in California with that name.
The fact that it said “customs” does make it sound as if it crossed an international border, though.
A few weeks ago I got an alert asking if I had made a particular purchase. I had not, although I did order something from the same company a few days earlier. I checked “I did not authorize this purchase” and my debit card was immediately frozen. Damn, I use that thing all the time.
I called the debit card help number and went with their suggestion to close out the card and get a new one. It would be 7 to 10 days. Crap! I asked if they had an expedited service and they did but it was $60. I bit the bullet and went for it. I got my new card on the second day. It was sent from my credit union’s main office about 20 miles away for $60.
There is a clear reason for this: It’s an RV part. They are pre-conditioning it for extended road trips. You should be thanking them for the service they are providing you, Free of Charge.
As far as I can tell, Burlington California is nothing more than a campground. There aren’t any buildings there at all, much less a customs operation. I’m sure the package is in Burlington Canada.
Yeah, probably. I was just playing along with the absurdity.
I lost all faith in one local delivery company tracking accuracy after the time the message saying they had my parcel arrived more than 24 hours after the parcel did.
Airline lost my luggage on the way home one trip. I would periodically call the # & enter my tracking # to see if they found it yet. Eventually I get a phone call from some courier - they have my suitcase, what’s my address to deliver it to. I get it, unpack, wash & dry the dirty clothes. For S&G I call the # again, it still says they’re trying to locate my luggage - 3+ hrs after I get a call & 1½ hrs after it was in my hands.
